Baseline
Rekha News strives to present accurate and complete news reports to its audience based on all the information available at the time we are reporting the news. We strive to respond promptly in correcting errors in the content published on our website as soon as it comes to our notice.
We being a digital platform run corrections and clarifications on our social media handles or share an editor’s note detailing the corrections made and what the error was, besides updating the same in our content.
In case of a major mistake that may amount to spreading misinformation, we offer a proper and timely apology to our readers.
Updating reports
Whenever we correct a significant error or edit a story, it is important for us to use a correction, clarification or editor’s note to inform readers. If our fact-check (which is done in accordance with our fact-check policy available at [“Fact-Check Policy”]) finds an error and once it comes to our attention.
We update the article accordingly and at the top of the article, we mention “[Correction: Information updated…]” in bold and explain the correction made. We provide readers with the option to suggest corrections. You can email us at avijeetgupta1999@gmail.com.
Corrections
If we are making a substantive correction to an article, photo caption, headline, graphic, video or other content, we publish the correction immediately explaining the need for the said change.
Editor’s Notes
A correction that calls into question the overall essence of an article or raises a significant ethical dilemma may require an editor’s note, followed by an explanation of the issue. A senior editor approves the addition of an editor’s note to the story.
Other correction policies
When an error is found by a reader and posted in the comment stream, our community engagement team may indicate in the comments that it has been fixed.
When we publish incorrect information on a social network, we correct it on the same platform. If we cannot change the incorrect information, we retract it.
We do not assign blame to an individual reporter or editor (for example “due to a reporting error” or “due to an editing error”).
